The 2018 ASICS Greater Manchester Marathon will marked the 100th 26.2 mile run for 65-year-old Steve Bassam, who was told almost 15 years ago he would likely spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair. Coming through great pain and surgeries, Steve overcame a diagnosis of severe rheumatoid arthritis and took to running to get himself back to fitness. He chose his home city to run his 100th alongside his Middleton Harriers Running Club-mates.
