Details of the charges involved
Following the cancellation of the 2020 Manchester Marathon on Sunday 11th October we contacted all runners to offer them several options on what they would like to do. A couple of these incurred small charges, and we wanted to clarify what these are, and why they are in place.
Please be aware the refund you are due is £5 less than you originally paid to enter the 2020 Manchester Marathon.
Why is this and what does that £5 cover?
Since the decision was taken to postpone the event, we have been working hard to ensure we can refund all our runners who choose this option in good time.
That admin fee will cover some of, but ultimately not all of, the below:
- Fee charged to us to process refunds
- Staff Time
- Some unrecoverable event costs
It’s been a busy time for the team ensuring you are not too inconvenienced by this, so thank you for your patience, and we look forward to processing your refund as soon as possible. We hope to have everyone’s refund with them by the end of April.
Race entries are transferable between people for a fee of £10, log in to your profile at mydashboard.timeto.com (using the same email address and password that you used to register with) and select “transfer the registration to another athlete”
The £10 covers everything the new participant will need for the 2021 Manchester Marathon, and is in place to partially cover costs of items already ordered for our 2020 event. This includes things like medal, t-shirt, bib etc. We understand it’s a difficult time for everybody at the moment, and we have done our best to be generous in the options available, without suffering significant further losses.
