TRAFFORD MOVING FUND DONATES £27,000 TO LOCAL GROUPS WITH WOMEN’S SPORT FOCUS
The adidas Manchester Marathon and Manchester Half have fortified their long withstanding relationship with Trafford Council, with almost £30,000 donated to Trafford-based community initiatives in the last 12 months.
Since its inception in 2015, the Trafford Active Fund has donated hundreds of thousands to bolster the sporting legacy of Greater Manchester, with Trafford recognised as one of the best sport and leisure destinations in the world.
£1 from every paid entry into both the adidas Manchester Marathon and Manchester Half goes into the Trafford Active Fund.

Urmston Mad Batters
Urmston Mad Batters is a Women’s Rounders Team based in Urmston. Their aim is to promote the physical and mental well-being of local women through an accessible sport, and the fund has allowed them to train throughout winter in their indoor venue, as well as contributed to new equipment.

Breathchamps
Breathchamps offer social ways to help adults and children to breathe better: singing for lung health classes, Japanese Forest Bathing and dance classes for breathless, unsteady or unfit people. The fund has contributed towards more volunteers and equipment, to allow people to attend regular forest bathing sessions in Sale West.

Sale Harriers – Junior Running Programme
Sale Harriers and a friendly running club with sites in Crossford Bridge, Wythenshawe Park and Sports City. The Junior Athletics Club is aimed at 6–16-year-olds, giving young athletes the opportunity to try out all athletic disciplines. The fund has allowed the club to replace a moth-eaten high jump bed, and coach all age groups in this event.

DOSportUK – Trafford Wildcats
Disability Opportunities Sport in the UK have assembled the Trafford Wildcats Inclusive Basketball group. The club provides a weekly basketball session aimed at people with a learning disability and/or autism in Trafford. A spokesperson for the club reported that the fund has helped in “tackling health inequalities through to social benefits, mental health benefits, and working towards breaking down other societal barriers”.

Our Goal CIC – The Eva Programme
Our Goal CIC is a not-for-profit organisation which exists to improve the lives of girls through physical activity. They deliver community sport and school-based physical activity interventions with girls and a particular focus on inactive teenagers. The fund has helped upskill female mentors to improve the activity levels of local secondary school aged girls.
