WHAT’S NEW AT THE ADIDAS MANCHESTER MARATHON 2024?

As if you needed more reason to get excited about the adidas Manchester Marathon 2024, we’re sharing 5 awesome new updates ahead of the big day.

From lovable mascots to an interactive adidas pop-up, stay in the know with what’s new at this year’s event.

1. A NEW MASCOT

Thie year we welcome a brand new mascot, Chester the Bee, who is the love interest of the our much-loved existing mascot Manny the Bee.  Manchester has a vibrant LGBTQIA+ community, and introducing mascots that celebrate this diversity allows us to reflect these identities within Greater Manchester. It’s a way to honour the unique contributions and experiences of LGBTQIA+ individuals and showcase our pride within the larger community.

Look out for Chester and his adorable bucket hat at the event!

Look out for Manny and his partner Chester on Sunday 14th April.

2. AN INTERACTIVE ADIDAS POP-UP

From 10th April until 13th April, participants and their supporters can step into the interactive realm of adidas Running at 26.2, the exclusive adidas Manchester Marathon pop-up.

The Feel Good Club is located in the heart of the Northern Quarter in Manchester and offers an array of experiences, from special guest panel discussions, adidas giveaways, to product test and trial sessions. There will also be a customisation station where you can craft personalised race day signage to support your friends and family. Find out the latest info HERE.

3. A SNAZZY MEDAL

After an exciting vote on the medal, the 2024 finisher medal has been revealed and we reckon its worth its weight in gold…

That’s right, participants voted for the gold style, which features a bold, geometrical design and the event colours of blue, pink and white.

The chunky beauty will be waiting at the finish line for runners on Sunday 14th April and we can’t wait to see them wearing it with pride.

4. AN ARTISTIC FINISHER TEE

Our 2024 finisher’s t-shirt has been crafted by the talented Mancunian cityscape artist, Meha Hindocha.

Renowned for her captivating hand illustrated cityscape creations, Meha draws inspiration from everyday interactions and emotions.

When approached to design this particular tee, Meha expressed her desire to craft a piece that not only celebrates the 26.2 mile achievement but also serves as a lasting memento of the event.

5. A NEW GREEN RUNNER CHARITY

This year, as part of our eco-friendly Green Runners initiative, we’ve partnered with City of Trees to support the planting of trees across Greater Manchester.

Trees will be rooted in areas surrounding the 26.2-mile route to give back to communities such as those that participants will pass through.

Currently, approximately 1575 of 2024 participants have chosen not to receive a finishers t-shirt and a further 690 have opted out of the finishers medal and t-shirt at the end of the event.
