IMPORTANT TRAVEL UPDATE
We are excited to welcome everybody to Sunday’s adidas Manchester Marathon and wanted to make you aware of several travel updates ahead of your journey.
RAIL TRAVEL
Damage to overhead lines near Manchester Piccadilly have caused a significant number of train delays and cancellations in and out of the station since yesterday (Thursday). Disruption will continue into the weekend.
- There is a reduced service tomorrow (Saturday) with only one train per hour from London Euston
- Other scheduled trains may be cancelled or have their times altered
- We understand Manchester Piccadilly Station is likely to be closed from 23:00 Saturday to 11:00 Sunday
Participants and spectators that were planning to arrive at Manchester Piccadilly between 11pm on Saturday 18th April and 11am on Sunday 19th April, should check the latest information as soon as possible and plan an alternative arrangement.
Updates will be posted on the Network Rail and Transport for Greater Manchester website and our travel pages.
ALTERNATIVE OPTIONS
- Other key stations are operating normal services, including Manchester Victoria and Oxford Road
- Manchester United have released another allocation of parking spots for those who can travel by car. These MUST be booked in advance through their official portal, no access will be possible on the day without pre-booked tickets. You can book your space here.
CAR | OVERNIGHT ROADWORKS
Those travelling to Manchester overnight on Saturday should check for planned road closures between 21:00 and 6:00 Sunday morning. Information about these can be found here: https://nationalhighways.co.uk/travel-updates/road-closure-report/
