Marathon Challenge Launched

Sunday 5th April was supposed to be the day of the largest ever Manchester Marathon, welcoming 26,000 people to the streets of our city.

Whilst the world is in lockdown due to the COVID-19 outbreak, we are offering our runners the chance to complete a marathon in a slightly different way. By downloading and using the official Manchester Marathon app, you will be able to clock up miles whenever you run. If you complete a total distance of 26.2 miles between Saturday 4th April and Saturday 19th April you can complete our special challenge, and go into a draw to win some great prizes.

IMPORTANT – The miles can be completed in as many runs as you require, and we do of course request you stick to the governement’s current guidelines around social distancing. Please do not overstretch yourself, as you can complete the 26.2 miles by running under 2 miles a day if you wish.

We’ll be picking 5 people at random to win a place in any Human Race running event in 2021, which includes either the Manchester or Paris Marathon, and the London Winter Run.

The challenge goes live from Saturday 4th April, and you can find out more about thow to download and use the app on our dedicated page.

Best of luck!
