I really enjoy pacing races across the North West, but the adidas Manchester Marathon is something special. The best part is always meeting and chatting to participants along the way and helping them hit their goals — and the atmosphere on course is like nothing else.
Running through Sale, where my local run community is based and where I volunteer coach, is a real highlight. The support there is fantastic and I love seeing friends and family out on the route cheering everyone on.
Good luck to all the runners!
''I have ran over 500 marathons and paces over 20 times.''

I am beyond excited to be part of the amazing pacing team who will lend their experience to many participants and help them to achieve their finish line goals.
This is my third year pacing at the adidas Manchester Marathon, the atmosphere is electric and the crowds and participants combined give a very powerful energy, making it one of my favourite events.
I am looking forward to running with as many people as possible on the day, enjoy your training, and remember, by time you get to the start line, you have done the hard work. The marathon is your lap of honour.

Tell us a little about yourself and why you’re excited to be pacing at this year’s adidas Manchester Marathon?
I started running in my early years, took a break in the 90s, and returned in 2013 to rebuild my fitness. Since then running has become a huge part of my life, and I've had the privilege of pacing over 200 events across the UK and internationally.
This year I'll be leading the 5:30 group — expect steady, consistent splits from start to finish, plenty of chat, encouragement and helpful updates to keep you relaxed and on track. Whether you're chasing a goal or just want a friendly group to get you round, I'd love to have you with me. Let's make it a great day!
''The adidas Manchester Marathon holds a special place in my heart as it was my very first marathon''

Tell us a little about yourself and why you’re excited to be pacing at this year’s adidas Manchester Marathon?
In 2026 I’ll be proud to have taken part five times in the adidas Manchester Marathon, and twice as part of a relay team. I’m especially passionate about pacing at the steadier end of the field, where encouragement, belief, and motivation can make the biggest difference to a participant's day.
What truly sets Manchester apart is the incredible support—crowds that are not only loud but genuinely warm, creating a real sense of community and family throughout the course. While so many major events take place in the south, Manchester delivers something just as special for the north, and I’m excited to be part of that experience again this year.
''Distance means nothing, when you have thousands running with you''
Tell us a little about yourself and why you’re excited to be pacing at this year’s adidas Manchester Marathon?
I have been running for a long while and have recently taken cycling as a hobby. When I am not working, I enjoy playing chess, watching documentaries and spending quality time with family. As this will be my 7th adidas Manchester Marathon, it would be amazing to share the smiles and miles with many other people, especially those who will be running a relaxed pace of 6:00. It gives me joy to see people achieve their goals and being able to be part of their journey is fulfilling.

I started running after an accident and I have met so many wonderful and encouraging people since. I can’t wait to pace the adidas Manchester Marathon to hopefully give back to others, and to play some music as we finish it together.
