We’re so excited to welcome 36,000 people to Trafford and Manchester on 27 April 2025 for what’s shaping up to be our biggest and best event yet. Our team is fully focused on helping everyone taking part to achieve their goals and enjoy an incredible experience.

At the same time, we’ve understandably had lots of questions about what’s happening next year  (especially given our 2025 date clash with another fairly large marathon happening on the same day), so the article below covers some of the most frequently asked queries, starting with the date…

We’re pleased to confirm that the 2026 edition of the adidas Manchester Marathon will take place on Sunday 19 April 2026!

HOW DO I GET A PLACE TO TAKE PART IN 2026?

The adidas Manchester Marathon has seen a remarkable surge in popularity in recent years, with both the 2024 and 2025 events reaching capacity in record time, despite increasing the capacity to 32,000 and then 36,000.

The overwhelming feedback from participants is that they’d prefer to avoid a ballot system and instead secure their place through a guaranteed entry process. With this in mind, we’ll be releasing an initial allocation of places on a first come, first served basis. Early sign ups play a crucial role in the planning and organisation of the event, so we’ll continue to offer a tiered pricing structure, with the best value available to those who register earliest.

• Monday, 28th April 2025, Noon – Priority Access will be given to those on the Priority List in the order in which people signed up.
• Tuesday, 29th April 2025, Noon – Entries open to the public

To be included on the 2026 Priority Access list, make sure you register on our dedicated page as soon as possible. No decision has yet been made on whether or how further places might be released later in the year, so if you’re not ready to commit just yet, please do check back for updates in due course.

We know many of you will be having a go at the London Marathon ballot – and fair enough! But if you hang about until June to find out whether you’re in, there’s a good chance you’ll miss out on the best-value places for the adidas Manchester Marathon. So, we have decided that for this entry window ONLY, in the unlikely event you get a London Marathon place through the public ballot, we’ll refund you (minus the booking fee). WHAT ENTRY TYPES WILL THERE BE?

For our launch entry window we will offer the following entry types:

• Individual Entry: Includes guaranteed entry, your finisher tee and medal)
• 2 Person Entry (discounted guaranteed entry for two people): This entry type includes everything in the Individual Entry type for both people.
• Full Experience Package: Includes everything in the Individual Entry PLUS your event photos and engraved medal insert (iTab).
