THE WHO’S WHO OF OUR ELITES
The adidas Manchester Marathon will welcome incredible British talent on Sunday 27th April, with over 70 elite athletes set to take on event which will also host the 2025 England Athletics English Championships.
The field includes returners, previous winners and new faces who will battle it out for the podium finish on the stunning new Oxford Road finish line.
Among the many great names taking on the event, some in particular are stirring up the competition…
Keep your eyes peeled for the following athletes who will be hot on each others heels this year!
WOMEN’S
Melissah Gibson
Last year’s 2nd place title holder Melissah Gibson will return to the event, with hopes to better her podium position. Melissah’s qualifying time is 02:36:39, having run 108 marathons in her lifetime so far.
Tessa McCormick
With a rapid time of 02:33:45 at the Valencia Marathon 2023 to her name, Tessa McCormick will certainly challenge Melissah for the Women’s win. Her last big race was at the Copenhagen Half over the summer.
Olivia Tsim
Welsh international athlete Olivia Tsim is fit and ready to take on the challenge, having achieved a scorching time of 73:37 in the Bath half marathon last month. Olivia has also been balancing training with motherhood in the lead-up to the challenge.

MEN’S
Adam Clarke
With last year’s win and an impressive time of 02:15:35 behind him, adidas athlete Adam Clarke is in fighting form and ready to defend his title. Adam won the Farnborough Half Marathon in February and is looking forward to be back racing in Manchester this month.

Mohamud Aadan
GB athlete Mo Aadan, who represented Britain in the 2022 European Athletics Championships (marathon) and 2018 & 2020 World Half Marathon Champs, brings a solid PB of 2:12:06 to the event, which he achieved in Seville this year.
Joshua Griffiths
Joshua Griffiths, known for his surprise entrance onto the elite marathon scene in 2017, brings a blistering PB of 2:11:24 to the event, which he achieved in Seville in 2022. Joshua has also represented Britain at 2017 & 2022 World Championships.
TIMINGS OF THE DAY
The male and female elite categories will set off promptly on Sunday 27th April at 09:00.
