As said by one of our returning runners this year: “Manchester is a warm and welcoming city but at the same time it has an edge. It’s the cooler younger sibling of London; it does things differently and it doesn’t do mainstream”.

The adidas Manchester Marathon is exceptionally well-organized, with participants describing the atmosphere as ‘electric’ and praising the city centre course, ‘phenomenal’ support crowds, chunky finisher medal and friendly staff and volunteers.

Of course, the adidas Manchester Marathon is also a sure-fire alternative to those looking for a quick time, as it is flat and fast, with part of the route flowing through the buzzing city centre. The fastest times to date are Jonny Mellor (male) in 02:10:46 and Becky Briggs (female) in 02:29:06.
