Oh #MedalMonday! Our legs may feel like planks of wood and our feet are, well, looking ‘interesting’… but you make our hearts full!
Among the soreness and sheer exhaustion that follows a marathon, #MedalMonday is a reminder of what we have accomplished and that no matter what state we finished in, we are all winners in this event.
We’ve been delighted to see so many of you posting your medal photos with the hashtag #MedalMonday and #ManchesterMarathon, and we wanted to share just a handful of our favourites!
We are also so pleased to hear that so many of you loved the 2023 medal design. We think that our participant Michael sums it up perfectly: “What a beauty! This is exactly the kind of medal I like. Clear design & city skyline… perfect! Thanks Manchester 🤩”

In seventh place… runfastdrinktea posted a winning combination of our finisher medal and t-shirt, designed by local Mancunian artist Pete Obsolete. They just look perfect together!
In sixth place… Michael had rave reviews about the medal design and really shows it off to its advantage with the Manchester canal in the background. Thanks Michael!
In fifth place… we’re not quite sure how Michelle managed to go on a hike the day after the marathon, but we love that she is doing it while wearing her medal with pride!
In fourth place… that’s quite a collection runningwoman_1 – do you sometimes brush your hands over them just to hear them tickle?
In third place… these guys know how to celebrate in style. We’re loving how the prosecco really makes the colour of the medal pop…
In second place… What a turnout from Birmingham Swifts (LGBT) running group. We love to support running groups and it looks like you guys ROCKED IT!
In first place, or ‘in the lead’… Our hearts have been stolen by runner_rambler_rourke and their good boy. What can we say – we’ve got a soft spot for marathon doggos!
