VOTE NOW – Who Will Receive £42,000 of Funding?
As reported last month, the Trafford Active Fund will be awarding three organisations £14,000 each to help support their vital work at a difficult time.
An esteemed panel of judges have whittled down over 30 excellent applications to a final shortlist of just five, and we are now asking the public to choose the final three. Each individual is able to cast one vote towards the organisation they feel should receive the funds.
Voting is open from Wednesday 24th March to Tuesday 6th April at 9am.
You can find out a little more about each of the organisations below, and when you’ve made your decision, votes can be cast by clicking the link.

The Conservation Volunteers
Coronavirus is having a big impact on mental and physical health. Your support for this project will allow Trafford residents who have been affected by loneliness, illness, lockdowns and shielding to regrow their physical and mental health. This project will bring people together through outdoor exercise including gardening and conservation, improving local parks and greenspaces for the wider community.
Disability Snowsport UK
DSUK brings the health benefits of snowsports to everybody regardless of disability, injury or experience.
Covid has hit disabled people hard, limiting opportunities to be active. £14,000 will give 150 local disabled people the chance to get active at Trafford’s Chill Factore, improving their physical and mental health.
“When I ski I feel I have a sense of freedom where there are no barriers stopping me.” Skiing and snowboarding are for everyone – especially disabled people.
Henshaws Society for the Blind
Close your eyes for a moment. Notice how quickly the familiar becomes unfamiliar. Keep them closed a little longer, and imagine what life would be like living with sight loss. How would it affect your job, your social life, and the things you enjoy? How would you stay active, stay healthy, and stay positive?
The pandemic has seriously eroded confidence and independence for visually impaired people. Help us restore it by voting for Henshaws today.
