WHERE TO MEET YOUR LOVED ONE AFTER THE #MANCHESTERMARATHON

Reuniting with your loved one after a marathon is a special moment. They’ll likely be feeling a mix of emotions – from pride, elation, exhaustion, and disbelief.

Manchester has a wide array of  cafes and restaurants which are great meet up spots. We recommend that supporters avoid the finish line area; it will be crowded with restrictions, making it difficult to view participants. If you’d like to meet loved ones close to the finish line, we have provided coloured flags on Oxford Road (after the Mancunian Way Bridge) which continue up to Charles Street.

Check out our top three spots to meet up with your loved one below.

Note: Approximate walk/journey time is from Oxford Road near the finish line.

1. EXPLORE THE CITY CENTRE

Journey time: Approximately 20 minute walk

Directions: Walk directly north on Oxford Road until you reach Manchester Library, here you can go in any direction!

The obvious choice and for good reason, Manchester’s city centre has countless places to enjoy with your loved one. Whether you’re planning a quiet meal away from the crowds or are looking to go late into the evening, you will be spoilt for choice here.

TIP: Stop off at Circle Square, Manchester’s innovative city centre neighbourhood, on your way up Oxford Road. Here you’ll find a Fan Zone with a big screen, as well as pop-up stalls and kid-friendly activities.

2. DEANSGATE

Journey time: Approximately 25 minute walk

Directions: Walk directly north on Oxford Road until you reach St Peter’s Square. Cross over the tram tracks, head down Peter Street, and continue to reach Deansgate.

Deansgate is a bustling central street with a mix of shopping, dining, and nightlife. We guarantee you’ll be charmed by its vibrant atmosphere after the event.

TIP: As you walk down Peter Street, look out for the adizero: For the Fast on the left-hand side. As our official adidas pop up for 2025, there is plenty of activities to get involved with here over event weekend.

3. LOCAL GREEN AREAS

If you’d like to venture further out of the city – particularly if the weather is nice, or you have restless little ones – why not take a picnic to one of Manchester’s many green areas after the event? Below is a map of our favourite situated around the finish line.

We hope you enjoy the post marathon celebrations at these great spots in Manchester!
