RESEARCH HAPPENING RIGHT NOW IN MANCHESTER

In Manchester, Professor Caroline Dive and Professor Phil Crosbie are developing blood tests to detect early-stage lung cancer. They’re investigating whether these tests could improve screening, by comparing and combining them with other methods.

This research could lead to more lung cancers being detected at an early stage, increasing the likelihood that people’s treatment is successful.

COMMUNITY WORK HAPPENING RIGHT NOW IN MANCHESTER

Talk Cancer is a cancer awareness training programme that equips people with the knowledge, skills and confidence to have effective conversations about cancer and health.

Cancer Research UK delivered our largest number of workshops in the NW region at 33 workshops.

Cancer Research UK trained 382 people across 20 online workshops and 13 face-to-face workshops.

Cancer Research UK delivered 18 workshops across Greater Manchester as part of our partnership with Greater Manchester Cancer Alliance, training staff and community leaders that work and interact with groups who experience inequalities, particularly around incidence and early diagnosis of cancer.
