1. Heather Townsend (Women’s 2nd place)

Heather Townsend reminded us just how special race day moments are when shared with friends and family, as she took 2nd place in the women’s race surrounded by her biggest supporters out on course and at the finish line.

This year’s event saw over half of participants take on their first ever marathon, including BBC Radio presenter Joel Mitchell, who documented his journey to the start line through his 26.2 Miles to Go series on BBC Sounds, sharing training insights, interviews and emotional stories from fellow participants.

Zoe Rae broke the sub-4 barrier in 3:59:56, made all the more special by sharing the course with her dad.

Rob not only smashed the marathon but also raised an incredible £1,967 for the Alzheimer’s Society. An incredible effort – well done Rob!

Hannah continued her inspiring return to competitive running just one year postpartum, finishing in 2:55:09 and securing a strong PB. She was supported on course by family and friends, including her husband Jordan, who also ran a PB of his own.
