WHAT’S NEW AT THE ADIDAS MANCHESTER MARATHON 2025?

As if you needed more reasons to get excited about the Largest Day of Marathon Running in the UK on 27th April, we’re buzzing to announce a host of awesome new updates.

From a stunning new city centre finish line to an adidas weekend pop-up and cheer points, stay ‘in the know’ with what’s new this year.

1. NEW CITY CENTRE FINISH

Utilising the grandeur of Manchester University as a backdrop, 36,000 people will now reach the climax of their challenge on Oxford Road.  As well as bringing the event’s finish into the city centre, the new finish is steeped in the history of Manchester – a true hub of innovation and progress.

2. ADIDAS WEEKEND POP-UP AND CHEER POINT

Title Partner adidas have gone above and beyond to put on an epic weekend of activities for participants, supporters and all those inspired by the event. Don’t miss the adidas Adizero: For the Fast pop-up at Impossible Manchester from 24th-27th April, which will host shake-out runs, expert panel discussions and other exciting activities to prepare for the big day.

For supporters, make sure to also visit the adidas x Made Running cheer point, located just a short 15 minute walk from Adizero: For The Fast, at Deansgate Interchange. Take your adidas decorated signs and head to Deansgate Interchange to cheer on your family and friends.

3. NEW WELCOME AREA

The Welcome Area will be located against the backdrop of Manchester United FC’s Old Trafford stadium, on the arena’s east side. After limbering up and using the new bag drop (more on this below!), toilets, marshals will then direct participants to the start line under Trafford Arch.

4. STUNNING NEW MEDAL

The 2025 Finisher Medal is a classic, gold embossed design, featuring a series of adidas Manchester Marathon M’s. These symbolise the many building blocks and steps each participant will take towards their triumph in this event. Pre-order your iTAB medal insert – with your name and finisher time – here.

5. A LOCALLY DESIGNED FINISHER TEE

For 2025 we worked with local Manchester Metropolitan University student Kian Godbold to design the finisher tee – his design pays tribute to Manchester’s greatest cultural icons, in his winning design featuring 8 unique iterations of the iconic Manchester Marathon ‘M’. Find out more here.

6. WELCOME HIGH5 NUTRITION

We’re excited to welcome leading sports nutrition brand HIGH5 to our event as Official Sports Nutrition Partner. The team will be providing Energy Gel Aqua at drink stations 3, 5 and 7.

Remember: Gels on course will be supplement to your own so we recommend you bring additional hydration and nutrition based on your specific needs.

7. NEW BAG DROP PROCESS

With the new point-to-point route, bags will now be transported from Old Trafford to the finish. We’ve made this new process super simple so if you plan to use bag drop on the day, find out everything you need to know here.

Bag Drop bags are made from sugarcane bioplastic and can be recycled at home after the drawstrings are removed.

8. MOTIVATION STATION (MILE 25)

No matter how tired you are at mile 25, don’t forget to smile for the Motivation Station screen. Complete with MC and motivational messages, while giant inflatable Manchester bees wave you towards the final stretch of the challenge.

9. WEEKEND AND SUPPORTER FUN

Our handy Supporter Hub is here to help you make the most of the electric atmosphere in Greater Manchester. Find out about the best places to watch participants; get spectating tips and advice; and use interactive walking maps to plan your day.

10. SMILES FOR SPORTOGRAF!

Say cheese! We’re also welcoming Sportograf to the event, who will be capturing official participant photography on the day. Find out more about event photos here.

11. FINISH LINE CHARGING POINTS

For those wishing to charge their phones at the finish line, there will be Lifesaver Power Banks at the Info Point at the finish line. Find out more information here.
