Para Athletes

We welcome all Para-Athletes, including elite racing wheelchairs, assisted and unassisted day wheelchairs and racerunners to take part in the adidas Manchester Marathon. All athletes must complete the race within the 6 hours cut off time. Please note, we do not currently allow hand-cycles to enter our running races.

We have a Disabled Athletes Access Point at the start area, to allow easier access for disabled athletes to enter the race.

Elite Wheelchair Athletes

If you are interested in competing in the Elite Wheelchair Race please click here for further information.

Day Wheelchair Athletes

Disabled athletes using day wheelchairs, race runners or assisted wheelchairs will be filtered into the back of their wave from the Disabled Athletes Access point. You will be filtered into the appropriate wave for your estimated finish time. You will access your wave via the ‘Disabled Athletes Access Point’ which is located at the side of the start pens. There will be dedicated accessibility volunteers from Activity Alliance to assist you. All specific access info will be emailed to you prior to the event.

Assistant/Guides

If running with a guide/assistant, please let us know and we can issue you with one free place.

Other Disabled Athletes

You can go straight to your allocated start pen as usual; based on your expected finish time / coloured bib.

Alternatively, you are welcome to use the Disabled Athletes Access Point, the designated holding area based at the start, allowing you to be conveniently filtered into your allocated start time nearer the front.
