Manchester Marathon Updated date

We are thrilled to say we have agreed a new date with the great support of Trafford and Manchester City Council and we will now be able to host the 2020 Manchester Marathon on Sunday 11th October.  This will sit alongside our sister event; the Tommy’s Manchester Half and become an outstanding day for marathon and half marathon runners together, with our incredible route combining the immensely popular Trafford sections, plus a section through the city centre.

We researched when people want to run a marathon in the Autumn, and October was the preference, with weather conditions and time after the summer holidays helping people do their best.  Combining the great fitness base you have already for April and current recommendations to keep fit and healthy, you can now prepare well to hit your goals on our famously flat course.

Whilst both the Manchester Marathon and Tommy’s Manchester Half will take place on the same day, they will remain separate events, with separate starts allowing a clear course for those who need it. Exact times will follow in due course, but both will remain morning starts.

If you have friends or family who might want to join you for this challenge this autumn, then we are hoping to release a small number of extra places. We’ll be announcing further details shortly.
