CAN I TRACK THE LOCATION OF A RUNNER IN THE ADIDAS MANCHESTER MARATHON?

You can get a predicted location for any of the 32,000 runners taking part. The technology uses timing points throughout the course to monitor each person’s progress, and then predict their movement based on their time so far. You can use it from Sunday 27th April here.

You can also follow the action on our social media pages which will put out an array of content and coverage on the day.

HOW DO I TRAVEL TO THE START LINE?

The easiest way to travel to the adidas Manchester Marathon is to use the city’s tram system. The nearest tram stop to access the start and event village areas is Old Trafford located on the Altrincham line. For more information on travel, including other options, take a look at our Travel page here.

Please note that we do not recommend spectators go to the Start Line, as it will be very busy and there are no good vantage points to see participants. Instead, why not go to the City Centre for the best views and to soak up the party atmosphere?

HOW DOES BAG DROP WORK?

We will be releasing this information closer to event date.

WHERE ARE THE TOILETS LOCATED?

For participants going to the Start Line, toilets can be accessed in the event village, there will be some toilets near the start but these are very busy.

WHERE ARE THE DRINKS AND GEL STATIONS LOCATED?

You will find drink and gel stations at various points along the route – this will be announced in due course.

HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO COMPLETE THE EVENT?

The Finish Line closes 6 hours after the last person crosses the Start Line. Due to the zonal staggered road re-opening times, you will be asked to move onto the pavement if you do not keep within the 6 hour pace. This is so we can facilitate roads reopening for local businesses and residents.
